About Historic Sundance and founder Susan Lewis

I was raised in a small town in Northern California where I wed my high school sweetheart. We have been happily married for 25 years. We have two children which are both now grown and have been blessed with two beautiful grandsons, so far.

The Lewis family has lived in Beautiful Northern Nevada for the last 20 years. Our love for the western lifestyle and community is unending. We raised our family here and now their children are starting families in the same community. When not running the store, I enjoy hiking, watercolor painting, riding horses, being with friends and family and mostly holding my grandchildren.

I stayed home with my children for 12 years and about the time I was looking to go back to the work force an opportunity arose to buy the Historic Sundance in Virginia City, Nevada. I had always had a real love for Virginia City and its rich history and colorful people. It is almost impossible to believe but that was 10 years ago, where does the time go? Having a shop in a place like Virginia City has afforded me the privilege of meeting people from all over the world. I love people; talking with them, sharing stories and just generally having great human interaction. Many of my customers come back year after year and always enjoy catching up and checking out the new products in the store.

At the urging of many of my customers Historic Sundance is now open on line for your convenience. I hope you enjoy the online experience as much as the real thing in Virginia City. As with my Virginia City Store, Historicsundance.com has been a real labor of love. I have had assistance from my husband, my little brother “The Web Master”, and my father. Without their help and support this store would not be possible.
